1998 Spotlights
The 1998 season had many exciting moments and numerous great plays. Several players had multi-homerun games, several had 3 and 4 hit games, every player seemed to make at least one great play at some point during the season, and there was a lot of clutch hitting and pitching throughout the season. The spotlight for the season, however, clearly shines on Pete Weber. Despite playing in only 16 regular season games, Pete led not only the team but the league in hits, doubles, triples, home runs, total bases and runs scored; he was second on the team (and in the league) in RBIs; and was fourth in the league in steals. An interesting side note is that he struck out only 2 times in nearly 80 regular season plate appearances. On the pitching side, Pete contributed 16 innings earning 3 wins and a save.
