1998 Team Photo Thumbnail The 1999 OC Warthogs currently consist of 15 athletes. The nucleus of the team were classmates at UC Riverside, several of which played collegiate baseball. Fred Furry, Craig Weaver, Logan Ostrander, Todd Bisbocci, Pete Weber, Brian Carricaburu, and Jim Radler all matriculated from UCR. Logan (first base), Pete (centerfield), Brian (catcher), Jim (second base) played baseball while Fred played water polo and swam, Todd played volleyball and Craig worked his way through school. Pete signed as a free agent out of school and spent time with the Giants in the minor leagues. Steve Sigloch played football and baseball for Utah and was drafted out of school by the Brewers and spent a couple of years in the minor leagues. Don Luna played baseball for Northern Colorado. Keith Whalen played for UC Davis in Northen California (pitching to the catcher Fred had in high school). Kyle Ostrander played for San Bernardino Valley College. Rob Mooneyhan, Alan Brown and Tim Green played baseball in high school while Guenter Schmidt played in Germany. In addition, Matt Davis (UCR) and Shawn Doyle (CSULA) will throw some innings for the team in 1999.

For 1998, the team added Jimmy, Alan, Keith, Tim and Guenter to help replace the loss of Scott Foscaldo and Dave Kelly from last season’s championship team. In addition, the team is adding to the fan base with Fred and Rob having kids in the off-season and Pete and Keith expecting for the season. The Hogs have great chemistry and thoroughly enjoy playing Sunday afternoon baseball.
